    Definition

In electronic circuits, we always need to handle electricity, Electronic components come in many 

shapes and sizes and perform different electrical functions depend on the chemical characteristics

of it.

TYPES

passive: are electronic components that do not require a Source of Energy to perform their intended functions, Such as (resistors, capacitors, inductors, switches, relays).

active: the components that include amplifying signals such as (transistors, triodes, vacuum tubes, tunnel diodes).

Discrete: A discrete component is a one circuit element. The term is used to distinguish the component from integrated circuits and hybrid circuits, which are built from several circuit elements in one package. It typically refers to semiconductor devices such as (MOSFET, BI-polar transistors, J-FET, etc....).

Integrated circuit (IC): An integrated circuit or monolithic integrated circuit is a set of electronic circuits on one small flat piece of semiconductor material, normally silicon,

A semiconductor wafer on which thousands or millions of tiny resistors, capacitors, and transistors are fabricated. An IC can function as (an amplifier, oscillator, timer, counter, computer memory, or microprocessor).
